little things

Today actually felt like Spring! It was 65 and sunny all day. I guess it is suppose to get cool again, but I really hope they are wrong. Anyways I enjoyed it today, I got a lot of things around the house done. I even opened a few windows for some fresh air. I finally got to my workroom and quickly put this little guy together. I wanted a bunny as there have been so many in our yard the last couple of weeks. This was done so easily because the background is recycled. It is a side from a tissue box. I have a bunch of these in various colors, I love to use them. All I did was add a couple of die-cuts and it was finished. Sometimes less really is more, especially with time. I did this in a matter of minutes. Well I hope you enjoy it. Maybe this will inspire you to use something that is headed to the trash. Thanks again for stopping by on my creative adventure. Please come back soon.

Memory Box Butterfly

This week I used a cutout of this  Memory Box die as a stencil. Today I added the delicate die-cut as an overlay on the stencil I did of it. This was so quick and easy. I love how it turned out! Why not get some dies out and try something different with them. The possibilities are endless. Have a great weekend, and I hope you stop back next week for more creative adventures.

Merci butterfly

What a dreary day today! We even saw some snow again. I had to go with another butterfly to give me some hope of better weather.

I also used the same cardboard cut out as yesterday.

I forgot to get a picture of the stamp I used. I am not sure what company it is from. It looks like vintage lace. I used walnut stain Distress Ink and clear embossed it.

I then went back and inked all around. The embossing is hard to see in the pictures, but it is so nice up close.

I went back and colored in the antenna with a Distress Marker.

I love how this turned out!

I ran some thread through a wider piece of vintage trim to make a cute ruffle accent.

I added a tag and some twine.

Here it is completely finished. I hope you like it. Just another way to utilize your dies. Tomorrow is card class day at Stamp-N-Toys. Hope to see you there.

live everyday

Today's card was quick and easy. I think I have been using butterflies a lot lately due to my need for Spring to really be here.

I started with a pattern paper I found in my stash. The stencil I used is shattered glass by Clear Scraps.

The butterfly is from a Memory Box die, it is cut out of cardboard.

I inked it up with dusty concord Distress Ink.

I removed the stencil and put the cut out back on.

I then outlined with a distress market in the same color.

I went back and added the antenna and body.

Here it is so far.

I just inked up the edges some.

To finish it off I die cut a Cheery Lynn ribbon border and ran some vintage trim through it. I also added a Tim Holtz stamp.

See how simple it was. I hope you like it as much as I do. Well there are still a few openings for our classes this Friday at Stamp-N-Toys in North Webster. You have the option of 11:00 a.m. or 3:00 p.m. We will make 3 different cards for only $10.00. It is always a fun time. Thanks and see you soon.

Flower Bingo

Welcome to Tag Tuesday. As you can see I did a non-traditional type tag. I used a Bingo card as the base, leaving it the actual size that it was. You of course could use this as a card front.

Today I used all vintage repurposed items. They are a hymnal page, Bingo card, Scruples cards, Monopoly money, and playing cards.

I then cut a lot of it out. The money got turned into a flower. The flowers on the playing cards were fussy cut, the others were all die cut. The next pictures show the dies that I used.

Tim Holtz Ribbon Flags, Spellbinders Grateful Lattice, and Sizzix Rosettes

This is the general idea of what I think I am going to do.

I spritzed the background with Interference Red Perfect Pearls Mist.

Then I inked the edges with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.

I used my Zutter Distrezz-It-All on the sides.

Here it is all put together. I inked the flags with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. I also added some pale yellow vintage trim.

It is all finished. I hope you like how it turned out. This would make a nice spring decor piece. It could also become a great birthday card. I love it when a piece can be so many things depending on how you want to use it. Thanks again for sharing in my creative adventure, please come back soon.

Ella's Chicken Card

Sorry I have not been around for a few days. I had two great days at Simply Paper & Supplies up in Topeka, IN. Inez and her crew puts so much work into these events. I felt so honored to again be asked to help teach a couple of the classes. Everyone leaves so full, the food is amazing, they create four projects, and get to socialize with a wonderful group of women. There are many shared ideas and lots of catching up with, as well as meeting, amazing ladies. Oh, did I mention shopping? Inez brings so many new goodies to tempt us with! After this I must have been run down because I got my first bug of the season, and last! It was mostly a sore throat with a runny nose. I am feeling good today, hopefully I will get my Tuesday Tag finished. For now I wanted to share this adorable card my 11 year old made. She has 4-H chickens that live at a friends house down the road from us. He is so kind to help us "townies" with this farm thing. Anyways he celebrated a milestone birthday last month and this is what she created for him. She gets her true artistic abilities from her dad, I can not draw! She loves to freehand things that the rest of us die cut. She is so happy to be sharing this with you all! Please enjoy!

Moth Bingo

Tomorrow is Spring!!! The sun is supposed to shine. We will have to wait and see.

I had bought this tape awhile back to try something with it. I hardly ever use black and white, so I knew I had to color it.

These were what I decided to try, and they worked. Since the tape was slick, it had to be a permanent marker.

I chose to color just two moths. I did use some archival hydrangea ink over the rest of the areas, it is hard to tell that from the picture. It did soften the harsh white quite a bit.

I am very pleased with how the card turned out. I hope you get some spring inspiration from this. Remember to stop by Stamp-N-Toys tomorrow for a make & take card from Jan. Thanks again for joining me on my creative adventure, please come back soon.

dare to dream

Welcome to Tag Tuesday! Here is the spring tag I made in anticipation of the seasons arrival in just a few days. I only hope that the weather gets this memo and changes accordingly.

I used a Spellbinders die for this elegant butterfly that I cut out of metallic purple paper. The picture really does not show the beauty of this paper. I also added some gold ink to it.

This trellis is one of  the new Sizzix frameworks dies by Tim Holtz. I used some Donna Salazar papers to cut everything out with.

I hope this tag reminds you, dare to dream, of spring. Thanks for stopping by and please come back soon.

St. Patty's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day! This is the tag I did for make and take at Stamp-N-Toys last week. It would work also for 4-H, which is one of the reasons that I bought this die.

This is not a great picture, but it shows some of the cards that I made using the same items and techniques. I am trying to show how versatile tags really can be and or how you can use what you learn from making a smaller item, to make a card or even a scrapbook page. Please give it a try sometime. Thanks again for joining me on my creative adventure, and please come again soon.

Fun!!!

Aren't these so fun? They would be great for a birthday, congrats, or any special day. Kids from 1-100 will get a kick out of them, don't you agree? I had picked up some Valentine's Day cards at 75% off. I was drawn to these because they included cute little buttons with them, and I knew I could put them in Easter eggs or treat bags. When I opened them up I noticed the fronts did not look Valentinesey at all. I decided to then use them on card fronts. I made some bright, fun backgrounds, trimmed the original card down, and put the pin on. I think these will be a hit!

Have a safe and fun weekend! See you soon, and again, thanks for sharing in my creative adventure!

My Sunshine

I did get a card finished today! I made it bright and cheery since the weather is not giving it to us naturally.

The center stamp is by Unity. The heart stencils are Heidi Swapp. I created the background colors with campso teal and London Blue dylusions ink sprays by Dyan Reaveley. These are great if you are after  nice, vibrant color. The stencils are inked with picked raspberry distress ink by Tim Holtz. I hope Spring arrives on time! I think we are all ready for it. Thanks again for stopping. See you tomorrow.
