Best Wishes

I think I will go ahead and continue with vintage postcards this week. I still have some other ideas to try out. For today I made a similar version using components from the original.

Here is the postcard I chose for this project. This is exactly as it was found.

First I cut it into the two main parts.

I have a bunch of these cake decorating leaves sitting around. Some are old and some are newer. I took about 10 of these, in the smallest size I had, and gently sanded them to bring out the texture and to tone down the gold a bit.

For the background I used my favorite Distress Stain, antiqued bronze, it is a lovely copper color.

Next I lightly spritzed some heirloom gold Perfect Pearls Mist over the stain. I always use a heat tool to speed up the drying which often curls the paper.

So I went ahead and attached the burnt sienna card stock for the card back. This got rid of most of the curl.

I used a Krylon gold leafing pen to go around the edges of the sentiment. This ties it back together nicely.

Now to start putting it all together. I used pop dots for all of the pieces. I double stacked them on the center focus piece so that I could tuck the leaves under it.

This is how it turned out. You will have to scroll back up to the top to refresh on how the original looked. I did not like the purple flowers it had so that is what I focused on changing. I also gave the background color. I like my spin on it and I hope you do too. Thanks again for sharing in my creative adventure and please come back.
