You're A STAR

Well here it is! I am so excited about this one. I love the film flower and I hope you do too.

Today I am beginning with the embellishment first.

I cut 8 strips of film. I did each strip 6". Then I stapled them, like above picture, using my Tim Holtz mini stapler.

Using a hot glue gun, adhere each petal onto some sort of center. I forgot to take a picture, I am using a vintage wooden checker.

Here is a close-up.

I then cut out a chipboard center to finish off the back and really hold it all together.

Here is the checker.

Well I decided that flower was just too big for what I was doing, and I wanted a different center color. This is my second attempt. I used 4" film strips instead and a black checker. I like all of this much better.

Next I chose the stars stencil. I went over it with embossing ink.

Then I sprinkled Ranger's sticky embossing powder. This stuff is amazing! When heat embossed, it provides a sticky surface for adhering all sorts of goodies such as glitter, foils, beads, and flocking.

Heat it with a heat gun, it changes just like clear embossing powder. The thing is, now it is sticky!

Just sprinkle on your Ranger dry glitter.

Like yesterday, I am using the Die-Namics At the Movies set for my wording.

Well I accidentally deleted a photo. It showed I added silver Adirondack acrylic paint to the top of the checker. Only a little to bring out the awesome embossing already on the checker. Then I put some of the paint around the edges of the card front. Now glue everything down.

Looks even better with the black card back.

It looks better in real life, as the glitter is hard to take a photo of. I think this was a very fun embellishment to make. I hope that you will try it out sometime. Thanks again for stopping. See you next time!
