Well it is a new week, time to get those creative juices flowing! I have not decided yet if I am having a theme this week or not. I guess I will have to decide by tomorrow. Anyways let's get started.
I started by cutting a Polaroid die out of watercolor paper. I have had this die for awhile so I am not sure whose it is.
Next I took a frayed burlap distress marker and scribbled on my craft sheet with it. Then run a water brush through it to pick up the color. Start putting it on the paper.
Keep adding color until the die is all covered. This will give a very nice aged look, just like a real vintage photo.
I picked out a genuine vintage postcard. This one reads The Maples, along State Road, near Williamsport, PA. I just love these old pieces of history.
Now I started moving the die around the postcard to decide what part I wanted to put in the center. Here it is in the middle.
I think I decided on the left side. I used the magnetic platform from Sizzix. It is great to see where you are cutting.
This is the two pieces so far.
It is time for some embellishments. This is an older Spellbinders die.
This great stamp set from Tim Holtz by Stampers Anonymous called Warehouse District is what I chose to use next.
I used black ink with clear embossing powder to create this.
To add some more age to things I chose vintage photo distress ink for the edges.
This stamp was also in the set, but it is not in the picture. I had already taken it off the sheet, I guess, before I took the picture. I stamped and embossed it.
It needed distressed, and then I fussy cut it out.
I dug out some vintage trim and adhered it.
I added the stamped embellishments I made. The postal stamp is the actual one from the back of the postcard. I added some card stock to the back for durability.
Now for the card back.
Well I hope you enjoyed the adventure today. I have many more of these postcards, I have been wanting to use them for some time now. Maybe I will continue with these this week. I guess check back tomorrow to see. Thanks again for stopping by.
I really like this look!
