A few months ago I bought 100's of sewing patterns from our local antique store. They had been selling them individually for awhile and now they were ready to get rid of them. They had bundled them in groups of 10 or so for only $1.00. I love to buy in bulk, you never know when you might need a lot of something for a class. So I began a series of vintage style sewing cards. I really enjoyed doing them as they are more of a collage style, which I have always struggled with. Well I had to put them away for awhile during holiday time and I thought that I would do a run of them for a few days or so. Most of the patterns are from the 60's-70's, which I just love! What I do focuses on the front artwork of the package. I then incorporate pieces of patterns and some of the packaging. Of course I then add other real sewing notions. I will often use various sewing themed stamps and die-cuts.
I started with a piece of my favorite fabric, recycled denim.
Next I added a piece of vintage lace trim, which I also have an abundance of. The final step was adding some vintage notions. I put some buttons, still on their original card, and some pins and a safety pin. I am really happy with how it turned out! Thanks again for stopping by!

Love this look!
