I had no idea what I was going to work on today. I just sat down and decided to pull some paper out of a drawer. This particular one holds a lot of tags and card fronts that I have tried various things on, but was not sure at the time what to do with them.
The one I chose for today was from a bunch of papers that became various colors when I spritzed my cardboard box that I do my misting in. They came out so cool from so many different products being sprayed in there over time. I just took cream colored card fronts and kept dipping them in. I got probably a dozen or so at one time. I let them dry and then put them in this drawer until I needed one. Now is the time and this one was just perfect for today. As soon as I saw it I knew what I wanted to do.
Here is a close-up of one section. I love how it is so perfectly mottled, with such great shimmer in it.
I cut out this elegant flourish from Memory Box.
The paper that I chose is a wonderful metallic chocolate color.
I grabbed another lone paper from that drawer. I think it had been lightly stamped on. I can not remember who this majestic bee is by, but I embossed him in copper.
Next I fussy cut him out.
I stamped this verse using potting soil colored Archival Ink. I am in love with the Wendy Vecchi designer series by Ranger. There were 6 new release colors at CHA this winter to go with the previous 6. We have all 12 now in stock at Stamp-N-Toys.
It is coming along very quickly. I added pop dots to the flourish for dimension.
I added two layers of pop dots to the bee for extra dimension.
I inked the edges of my kraft card back. Now just put it together.
All done! This was very quick and easy. It really cuts down on time when the background is all ready to go.
I love bees! It could have something to do with my last name. Regardless, they are a fun subject to work with. I just might use some again tomorrow. Fly by and check it out.
I like the way this turned out! The background was just right for this.
