Vintage Valentine

Valentine's Day is this Friday. Have you made all of your loved ones a special card yet? If not maybe you can get some ideas here. How about mixing the old with some new and creating a one of a kind card. This can be done easily by using a vintage piece with some new dies.

I had to make this card bigger than I normally do to get the look I was after. It turned out even better than I imagined, I love it when that happens!

This is the vintage card I began with. It is an odd combo, but I love the potential it has.

These are just some Dollar Tree paper doilies. A great deal, with so many uses. I aged one by inking it up with some Distress Ink.

I used a deep metallic purple paper to cut a heart doily. This die is by Simon Says Stamp. It is perfect for the center of the vintage heart card.

Next I cut some other heart themed dies. The top one is by La-La Land Stamps. The bottom is by Impression Obsession Rubber Stamps. I was going to use this pink color, but later changed it to a bright gold.

This is the inside of the original card. I cut off the verse part to use on the front of the new card.

Some close-ups.

The finished card, what do you think? I had fun, and it was also quick and easy. Thanks for stopping by again. I hope to stay on track this week, so please keep checking back.
